New Animatic

Cartoon Modern.

Well I am back. I have decided to start again from scratch with my film-kept the same script (maybe with one or two minor adjustments)-because I needed a fresh start on this. I've been looking again at 1950s styles as a template for my layouts. Originally I looked at Animation Background styles of Goofy and Donald Duck. I wanted to undertake a background style that was similar to these two cartoon characters. But I got advised against this. So I kept researching, wanted to go for something simpler, and stumbled across this book called Cartoon Modern. This book looks at the style and design in 1950s animation. I found some really nice, simple backgrounds in this book..... The pictures shown below are type of background animation style that I will be using as an influence for my layouts and final aesthetic.

Hi All...

Just a quick note to say my film will continue, even though I am now suspending my studies till next year due to having a nightmare with loosing work and also personal reasons.

So even though I won't be handing my film in, I feel I owe
to myself...and Bob...to complete this...so I am going to finish my film over the summer.

And when I repeat my year..I will get more organised, bk up my work and not have a relationship in my third year! Def. not getting married again. Ever.

Latest Animatic

Okay, here is my latest animatic...still a lot, lot of work needs doing to it: need to start cleaning up the animation, colour it, sort my backgrounds out etc etc...but I will get there...! One or two things that definitely need changing: shot 2, where Bob is lying on his bed, with a great big erection...I decided that Bob needs to be full length in this shot... not just have him showing his face... because it will then 'flow' better with the shot after it (shot 3)......Another bit I am considering playing with: where he falls down the stairs could be a bit more comical...have Bob bouncing around a bit!

Observing from life.

For the last month or so, as I been animating, nearly all done now...(including redoing all the bloody shots that I lost!)...I just need to start cleaning up... I found that observing people and nature, in my case birds, has really helped me with my observation skills, regarding animation. So here are a few images of me walking, drawing from life ...observing people and their body language, and lastly drawings of pigeons. The reason why I chose pigeons? I wanted a bird that had that 'stupid look' about it, and I thought that pigeons would be appropriate. They just have a 'dumb look' about them! In my film, a bird forms a 'relationship' with Bob: Bob does a good deed to the bird-throws a doughnut up for it to eat...and in return the bird helps Bob...helps Bob to have a wank!

About a month ago, I started animating, so here is one of my first shots. Bob is sitting on the bed, and he wants to have a wank. He starts having a wank with vaseline, then a doughnut, and finally a whisk. The reason Bob leg goes up in the air, is that he throws the doughnut up to a bird that is flying pass in his bedroom. The bird will catch the doughnut and fly out.
Note- as of present, you cannot see the vaseline, doughnut and whisk: these three will be done at a later date in aftereffects. Will probably post more animation I done, this week (if the Data Recovery Specialist can recover all the animation I done so far...I dropped my hard drive last week and lost 20-30 shots, latest animatic etc...always back your work up Clare!!).

For my story, I thought it be worth looking at American style houses. Here is an example of an American house and bedroom.

1950s Influences.

I found the cartoon style of the 1950's appealing in terms of the colour, line, etc. Here are a few examples...

Wilma Flintstone.

Another influence is that of Wilma Flintstone, in terms of her hair. I think this style would suit my female character, Doreen.

Red Hot Riding Hood.

For my female character Doreen, one of the biggest influences is Red Hot Riding Hood. Why? I like the idea that this character is a femme fatale but at the same time, she appears innocent. The style and colour of Red Hot Riding Hood are both aesthetically pleasing.

Steve May Illustation.

The boy in the middle of these drawings by the artist Steve May, has influenced my design for my character Bob. The Simple use of shape and colour by Steve May is appealing.

Steve May.

One of my main influences for my character Bob is the artist Steve May. I found his approach to illustration aesthetically pleasing, in the terms of the colour, shapes, line etc, in the characters and backgrounds he has drawn. I thought that by using this style in my film, it would work quite nicely. I would make the character, Bob and the backgrounds both quite colourful.

My Pitch.

Name: Clare Hector-Yeganeh Ghanaati.
Title: ‘Bob and his new pair of arms....!’
Philosophy: The philosophy of this film is to explain that having the latest material goods, does not always bring about the result you desire, in this case pleasure.
Outline/ theme: My final film is about a disabled boy-he has no arms-called Bob. Bob desperately wants to have a wank, something so simple but he is unable to do so. However an opportunity arises, for Bob to get his wish. But not everything goes to plan, all sorts of mishaps happen to him that gets in the way of his goal: To have a wank. The big question is ‘Will he succeed?!..’..
Duration: 3 minutes.
Method: 2d animation, Flash.
Resources: Pen, pencil, paper, computer, computer software such as Photoshop, After-effects, Premiere, Flash.

Bob and New Pair of Arms.

SCENE 1

FADE IN

EXT. OF BOB’S HOUSE. SUNRISE. FRONT LAWN.

A bird comes into view, lands on a tree on Bob’s bedroom window ledge

CAMERA ZOOMS INTO BOB’S BEDROOM.

Inside the house Bob is relaxing on his bed, listening to music. Bob is licking his lips..

LONG SHOT OF BOB RELAXING ON HIS BED LISTERING TO MUSIC.

However he wants to have a wank. Bob wanted to wank for so long... and decides to get a bit of Vaseline and proceeds to have a wank. Bob (delirious) decides to have a wank a doughnut.
Bob gets bored with the doughnut and throws it up into the air, to be caught by a bird
CLOSE UP OF BOB WANKING THE DOUGHNUTS.
But alas as he is giving it his all, jam spurt out onto his balls. Bob (irate) is now very sticky... so he now decides to use an electric whisk.
CLOSE UP OF BOB USING THE ELECTRIC WISK.
But nothing can satisfy his itch. He feels deflated.
Bob then sits up and decides to watch some porn on television.
WOMEN WITH FLASHING BOOBS APPEARS ON THE TELEVISION SCREEN.
Bob however needs to wipe all the Jam off his balls...he sees a pillow (a pillow his mother gave him) and proceeds to wank it. Bob is relieved.

Out of the corner of his eye, at the window, he sees a new neighbour moving in. Bob (excited) goes over to the window and sees her long blonde hair; her cute butt in that dress...Bob can feel his balls starting to throb...

Bob is transfixed on this woman (lets out a happy sigh). However his thoughts are interrupted by his computer suddenly beeping. Bob goes over to the computer and sits down. Bob noticed that a pop up of ‘arms selling’ has come up on his computer. Then a picture of Mr Hook 'pops up'-before he had arms and after he had prosthetics. Mr Hook is now a very satisfied customer; he is able to have a wank (a picture of him having a wank is now on the screen, while looking at the prophet Muhammad).

CLOSE UP OF THE COMPUTER BEEPING.

CLOSE UP OF MR HOOK WANKING.

He then proceeds to order a pair of prosthetic arms off the internet with his toes.

FADE TO SCENE 2

SCENE 2

The next day in Bob’s house....

INT. BOB’S BEDROOM

A thump is heard downstairs. Bob (very happy) runs downs (from his bedroom); thinking it must be his new pair of arms, in the excitement he nearly trips over a cable lead. The arms have arrived!

INT. THE HALLWAY

Bob tears the parcel open with his teeth.

CLOSE UP OF BOB TEARING PARCEL OPEN WITH HIS TEETH.

Then Bob (very happy) takes the arms out of the box and puts them by his computer. Bob (relieved) goes back over to where the parcel was, and takes the instructions out with his teeth. He (concentrating) then proceeds to read the instructions that came with the arms.

MEDIUM SHOT OF BOB READING THE INSTRUCTIONS.

The instruction says for the arms to work, they must be fully charged up. Bob takes the battery charger out of the parcel with his teeth and places it on the floor, underneath the window. He then places the arms, one at a time on the battery charger.

CLOSE UP OF ARMS ON BATTERY CHARGER.

EXT. OF BOB’S HOUSE. SUNSET. DARK AND GLOOMY. RAINING, THUNDERING AND LIGHTING.

A lightning bolt hits Bob’s house via the television aerial. A spark of electricity flows down the aerial and into Bob’s room. It then travels to the battery charger...As the spark travels along the cable.


CAMERA SHOT OF LIGHTING TRAVELLING ALONG THE CABLE.

A CLOSE UP OF THE ARMS.

A finger moves...the arms are alive! A thumb moves...Camera moves in for a close up.
It wakes Bob up (lethargic) lazily opens one eye to see what that noise was...he can’t see anything and goes back to sleep.
MEDIUM CLOSE UP OF BOB HALF AWAKE.

THE NEXT DAY. SUNRISE.

INT. BOB’S BEDROOM

Bob (yawning) goes over to the arms, and sees on the battery charger they are now fully charged. He then puts them on. Feeling confident, he goes to see his new neighbour....

EXT. OF BOB’S HOUSE. THE FRONT LAWN

Bob walks out on to the front porch, and proceeds down the steps (very confident). Bob is whistling to himself, he is very happy with his new arms. Bob looks to his right and sees his new neighbour, still unpacking boxes. Bob is feeling very excited. He goes over to the new neighbour, strutting his stuff. His new neighbour hears him coming over, and turns her head. She smiles at him.
A warning light flashes on his arm...they are coming alive!
CLOSE UP OF WARNING LIGHT ON HIS ARM.

However before Bob can even say hello, the arms take on a life of their own. The arms suddenly drag Bob along towards the girl and molest her! The arms grab her boobies and bum. Bob is very embarrassed but very turned on. Bob starts making pleasuring noises.

A CLOSE UP OF HIS BALLS THROBBING; LIKE A HEARTBEAT. BOB BALLS ARE STARTING TO BEAT FASTER AND FASTER....THEN THEY RIP THREOUGH BOB’S SHORTS!

The neighbour is shocked and horrified. The neighbour is angry!
The arms just as they suddenly started stop.


Bob is kneeling on the grass looking at the arms (embarrassed and deflated). ‘How can it all go wrong?!’ he says aloud, while looking at the arms. But before Bob can think of anything else, the girl (angry) decides to kick him in the balls.

CLOSE UP OF BOB GETTING KICKED IN THE BALLS.

Bob is reeling over in agony, clutching his balls. The girl (satisfied) decides to go back into her house. The arms then come ‘alive’ again and decide to drag the boy along after her. But the girl gets to the house first and slams the door hard behind her.

Bob is left lying on the grass, he is tired, dirty and his balls are the worse for wear. His eyes are half opened. Bob (miserable) thinks this day can’t get any worse.

LONG SHOT OF BOB LYING HORZONTIAL ON THE GRASS.

FADE TO SCENE 3

SCENE 3

EXT. OF BOB’S HOUSE. THE FRONT LAWN

A bird comes into view.

CAMREA SHOT OF BIRD FLYING INTO VIEW.

A bird flies towards Bob. First it lands on a tree, slurping its lips and then decides to fly down towards his balls. The bird lands on Bob balls.

CLOSE UP OF BIRD ON BOB’S BALLS.

Bob feels the bird landing on his balls and lets out an ‘aghh’. The bird cannot see very well. The bird mistakenly takes the Bob willy to be a worm. The bird starts pulling it. The balls start throbbing again...they are getting bigger and bigger. This excites the bird. The bird thinks ‘ooo what big apples, we have here’ and furiously starts pecking at balls...
A LOUD RUMBLE SOUND.

The balls cannot take no more. The balls let out a whooshh...of cum.

CLOSE UP OF CUM WHOOSHING OUT.

The bird is covered in cum. It is shocked and dazed. It slowly advances towards Bob shoulder, and perches there.....dazed.

FADE TO BLACK

Bob and the bird wander off into the sunset.

INDIANA JONES TYPE MUSIC PLAYING.

FADE OUT.

The End comes in the style of 'that's all folks' Looney Tunes style, with the bird popping its head through the curtain. With cum still on its beak.
